Launch ‘Safe Place’ platform

SafePlace4.me: New Mental-Health Platform for Youth in Curaçao!

SafePlace4.me, a new digital platform supporting youth mental health in Curaçao, has officially launched. Created by young people and volunteers with support from CITI and Rotary Club Curaçao, the platform offers reliable information, practical tips, and links to professional help for issues such as stress, grief, panic and school pressure. It is available in Papiamentu and English, with a mobile app coming soon.

The idea for SafePlace4.me originated at the 2024 Hackathon organized by CITI and the Ministry of Economic Development, where Sorayda Arendel and Jenny Albertoe proposed an accessible online space for youth. Local experts and young people helped turn that idea into a clear and welcoming platform.

The website includes stories, tools and resources for young people, as well as a “Help Someone” section for those supporting others. While it does not offer professional or emergency services, it provides trusted guidance and connects youth to crisis lines when needed.

CITI invites all youth, educators, coaches and youth workers to explore and share SafePlace4.me. The platform will continue to grow with community input.
