How this website handles information about you, in plain language. Last updated 5 October 2026.

Who publishes this website

This website is published by the Curaçao Innovation & Technology Institute (CITI). The organization behind it is Stichting Secretariaat Curaçao Informatica Stimuleringsplan, also known as Stimul-IT. It is registered with the Curaçao Chamber of Commerce under number 110512.

The office is at Riffort Village 503 & 504, Willemstad, Curaçao. You can write to info@citi.cw.

What this page covers

This page is about the public CITI website. It explains what happens when you read a page, use the search on Updates, watch a video, open a file, or send a message.

The site also links to other websites, including program forms and other CITI tools. Those websites have their own rules. This page does not control them.

Browsing

You can read every public page without creating an account. There is no member login on this website.

This website does not add visit counters, advertising tools, or social-media tracking. It does not build an advertising profile of you.

When your browser asks for a page, the service that delivers the website can see ordinary technical details. Those details include the address of your internet connection, the date and time, the type of browser, and which page you requested. They are used to show the page and to keep the site working. This website does not use them to advertise to you.

The search box on Updates filters the stories already on the page. The words you type there stay in your browser. They are not sent to CITI.

Cookies

This website does not set its own cookies to count visits or to show ads. Because of that, it does not ask you to accept a cookie banner.

Another service can still store a cookie when a page needs that service to show a form, a video, or a photo. Those cases are described below. A page only loads an outside service when it actually shows one of those.

Writing to CITI

The contact page asks for your name, your email address, and your message.

No form service is connected. The page opens your own email application and fills in the text. Nothing is stored on this website. Nothing is sent until you press send in your email application. The message then goes through your email provider to info@citi.cw. CITI reads it there.

A telephone number on the contact page only opens the phone application on your device. This website does not record the call.

Forms on other websites

A program or event page can include a button that opens a form somewhere else, such as an application or a registration. That other website collects what you type there. It has its own privacy rules. CITI receives only what that form is set up to send, for example an application.

Read the form before you submit it. When the page records that a deadline has passed, or the event is over, the registration button is no longer offered.

Photos, names, and files

Pages can show the names and photographs of team members, speakers, participants, and people at events. CITI publishes them as part of the public story of its work.

Some photos are files on this website. Others are stored in CITI’s content system and sent to your browser by that system’s image service, Sanity. Your browser tells Sanity which image to show. That request can include the address of your internet connection.

A download button opens a file, such as a booklet. The file may be stored in the same content system. Opening it is an ordinary request for that file.

If you appear in a photo or a story and want CITI to review it, write to info@citi.cw.

Videos

Some pages include a video. YouTube videos use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player. Vimeo videos use Vimeo’s player with its “do not track” setting turned on. The player loads when you scroll to that part of the page.

YouTube, which is part of Google, or Vimeo can then see technical details such as the address of your internet connection and the device you use. Playing the video can store a cookie under their own rules. This website does not receive a list of what you watched.

Links you choose to open

The footer and the contact page link to CITI’s pages on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. The office address opens a map. Other buttons can open a document or another CITI website.

Those links do not load the other service until you click them. After you click, that website’s own privacy rules apply.

How CITI uses information

CITI uses information connected to this website to:

  • show you the public pages
  • answer a message you send
  • follow up on the program, event, or question you asked about
  • keep the website secure and working
  • correct a page when something is wrong

CITI does not sell personal information from this website, and it does not use this website to follow you with advertisements.

How long information is kept

This page does not set a fixed number of days. CITI keeps a message for as long as it needs to answer you and to keep a record of that conversation. A photo or a story stays on the public site while CITI chooses to publish it.

Email that stays in your own inbox follows your email provider’s rules. If a form service is connected later, this page will say how that service stores a message.

You can ask CITI how long a particular message is kept.

Your choices

You can browse without giving your name. You can also write by email instead of using a form.

You can ask CITI what it holds from a message you sent, ask for a correction, or ask for that message to be deleted. Write to info@citi.cw and say what you want. CITI will look at a reasonable request and reply.

You can also ask CITI to review a photo or a name on a public page.

Young people

Some programs are for young people and schools. This website does not ask a child to create an account.

A form on another website, such as a school visit or a program application, may ask for a young person’s details. A parent, guardian, or school can write to CITI about that.

Where information can be stored

CITI is in Curaçao. Email, a form tool, a video host, or the photo service may store information on servers in other countries. Their own privacy pages explain where.

Changes to this page

CITI can update this page when the website changes. The date at the top is the date of the latest version.

Questions

Questions about your information can go to info@citi.cw or through the contact page. The Terms page explains how to use the rest of the website.

This page is written in everyday language. It describes the website as it works today. It is not legal advice.
