About Money Wise

The Money Wise Youth project is an international Erasmus+ initiative dedicated to bridging the financial literacy gap for young people. Coordinated by the Curaçao Innovation & Technology Institute (CITI), this collaborative project unites an international network of organizations including Awero, Breakthrough Foundation, Jump In Hub, Life4You, and Assonur to build a economically resilient generation.By equipping youth workers, educators, and mentors with innovative, non-formal educational tools, we transform how young people learn to manage money in an increasingly complex digital economy.

Mission

Traditional financial education can feel rigid and detached from modern reality. The Money Wise Youth project changes the narrative by using gamified, digital, and practical learning methods.

Project Deliverables & ResourcesWe develop open-source, highly adaptable resources designed to make financial education engaging:

  • Youth Worker Activity Toolkits: Step-by-step non-formal session guides and interactive workshop methodologies that turn finance into teamwork and open discussions.

  • Digital Learning Playlists: Six gamified, online micro-learning pathways tailored directly for young people to study at their own pace.

  • Open Badges Certification: A digital credentialing system that rewards and certifies teenagers with verifiable digital badges as they master new financial competencies.

  • The Modern Competence Matrix: A structured educational framework mapping out the precise financial milestones a young person needs to navigate adulthood successfully.
