Public Lecture: Is Curaçao Ready for Quantum?

Quantum readiness. When will sufficiently capable quantum computers exist? There is no reliable date. Yet waiting for a breakthrough could leave organizations unprepared. Even premature claims about a major quantum breakthrough could create confusion or concern. Quantum readiness means understanding the risks, identifying information that must remain secure for years, and beginning a gradual transition to quantum-safe protection.

The Ministry of Economic Development (MEO) will also present how Curaçao's National Export Strategy, the contribution of the local IT sector to the IT export pillar, and IT as the Fourth Pillar can strengthen digital services, knowledge-based exports and new opportunities for the island.

CITI will present how quantum readiness fits into the broader context of Curaçao's Innovation Ecosystem. CITI will also discuss why AI, Quantum and frontier technology readiness is essential for Curaçao's competitiveness, economic resilience, and future opportunities.
