Innovation Ecosystem Development

Building a stronger, more connected and future-ready Curaçao

Innovation is essential for Curaçao’s economic development, competitiveness and long-term resilience. But successful innovation requires more than good ideas. It depends on an environment where businesses, government, knowledge institutions and other stakeholders can work together, access resources and turn opportunities into results.

Through its Innovation Ecosystem Program, CITI works to strengthen the conditions that enable innovation in Curaçao. We combine research, policy advice, strategic partnerships and practical initiatives to support a more innovative, sustainable and technology-driven economy.

Our approach focuses on understanding where Curaçao stands today, identifying opportunities and challenges, and developing the strategies, partnerships and infrastructure needed for the future.

Our Key Initiatives

Measuring Innovation

Understanding where we stand to make better decisions.

How do we measure innovation in Curaçao, and how prepared are we for frontier technologies like AI, Quantum and Green Technologies? CITI develops and applies an Innovation Measurement Framework to assess Curaçao’s innovation capacity, identify strengths and weaknesses, and compare our performance internationally. The findings provide valuable insights for policymakers, businesses and other stakeholders.

Innovation Strategy & Policy

Turning research and insights into action.

CITI supports the development of an evidence-based national Innovation Policy in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Development and other stakeholders. Our work focuses on strengthening the innovation ecosystem, supporting digital and green transitions, developing future-ready skills, and creating opportunities from AI and other frontier technologies.

AI Roundtable & Think Tank

Bringing leaders together to shape Curaçao's AI future.

Artificial Intelligence is creating new opportunities and challenges for businesses, government and society. Through the AI Roundtable & Think Tank, CITI aims to bring together business leaders, policymakers, technology experts and other stakeholders to explore AI opportunities, address risks and develop practical recommendations. The initiative supports collaboration, responsible AI adoption and the development of a shared vision for Curaçao's AI future.

AI Academy

Building the knowledge and skills to benefit from AI.

As Artificial Intelligence transforms the way we work and do business, developing AI knowledge and skills becomes increasingly important. Through the AI Academy, CITI aims to make AI more accessible and practical for entrepreneurs, professionals and organizations. The initiative will focus on AI awareness, practical applications, responsible use and skills development, helping Curaçao's workforce and businesses prepare for a rapidly changing digital economy.

Curaçao Quantum Safe

Preparing Curaçao for the next generation of digital security.

As quantum technologies advance, new challenges and opportunities are emerging for digital security. As part of the board of the Curaçao Quantum Safe Foundations (CQSF), CITI supports CQSF initiatives that promote awareness, knowledge sharing and collaboration to help organizations understand quantum-related risks and prepare for a more secure digital future.

Curaçao Innovation Hub

Connecting people, ideas and opportunities.

The Curaçao Innovation Hub brings together entrepreneurs, innovators, technology professionals and organizations in a shared environment for collaboration, learning and innovation. CITI contributes as an Innovation & Event Partner, supporting activities, knowledge exchange and opportunities to connect and develop new ideas.

Working Together for Curaçao's Future

A strong innovation ecosystem cannot be built by one organization alone. It requires collaboration between government, businesses, educational and research institutions, investors and the wider community.

Through this program, CITI connects stakeholders, provides research and insights, and supports initiatives that strengthen Curaçao’s capacity to innovate.
