Innovathon
CITI’s ideation hackathon with the Ministry of Economic Development. Teams work on concrete solutions for real challenges in Curaçao. Held since 2018.
About Innovathon
The Innovathon is an ideation hackathon: in a marathon session, people come together in teams to “hack” problems Curaçao faces and brainstorm concrete solutions.
The strength of the format is diverse teams combining their brainpower and creativity. The first edition in 2018 brought together more than 125 people. Later editions were online, hybrid, or a shorter mini-Innovathon.
The winning idea of the 2024 edition became SafePlace4.me, a mental-health platform for young people in Curaçao.
